Thrive Together

A Capital Campaign to Build
a New Edmonds Food Bank

At Edmonds Food Bank, we believe that access to nutritious food is a right, not a privilege. Every week, we serve our neighbors with fresh produce, dairy, and essential groceries but our current space limits how much we can do.

That is why we launched Thrive Together: A Capital Campaign to Build a New Edmonds Food Bank.

Last year, we signed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Edmonds Lutheran Church to build a new Edmonds Food Bank on their property to address our major challenges:

  • Limited hours for food distribution
  • Inadequate storage for fresh and non-perishable items
  • No room to provide additional services that provide long-term stability for families

A new home for the Edmonds Food Bank means more access, more dignity, and more connection. It’s more than just a building, it’s a space where everyone is welcomed, nourished, and supported.

Together, we can make this vision a reality. Join us in building a stronger, more resilient community.

We would love to meet with you to discuss making a capital campaign donation or pledge.  Please contact Jeremy Peck at development@edmondsfoodbank.org

Capital Campaign FAQs

A new facility for Edmonds Food Bank will bring much needed capacity and opportunity to expand food distribution efforts and reimagine partnerships that support food security.

It will be located on the west side of the property of Edmonds Lutheran Church, located at 23525 84th Ave W, in Edmonds, WA.

It will be approximately 16,000 square feet and will include expanded food bank facilities, more storage, a commercial/teaching kitchen to provide cooking classes and space for Annie’s Kitchen (the weekly Edmonds Lutheran Church meal program), and community engagement spaces that will enable our current and future partners to provide additional services to our customers.

These include medical and health, transportation, tax preparation, financial literacy, library cards, computer/internet access, EBT/SNAP application assistance, 211 resources navigator, housing, job training, legal, clothing, personal hygiene items, childcare, nutrition, cooking, domestic violence, and immigrant-focused resources among others.

Our goal is to break ground by summer of 2026 and open our doors by summer of 2027.

Our current goal is $13,000,000.

Funding will come from a combination of individual donations, corporate and private contributions and foundations, and public/government sources.

Yes, we will accept pledges up to five years.

We are in the process of identifying companies for the project.

We anticipate being open 6 days a week, but we will make decisions based on the needs of our customers and volunteers as those needs and requirements will potentially change over time.

We will serve Edmonds and the immediate surrounding community for those facing food insecurity.

We have created a draft of an annual operating budget.  We don’t anticipate a significant increase in an operating budget as the elimination of rent costs we currently pay will be offset by the costs associated with operating a new facility.

Our Campaign Ambassadors consist of donors, volunteers, and community leaders and meet monthly to drive our campaign and fundraising efforts.  To get involved contact Jeremy Peck at development@edmondsfoodbank.org or 425-443-0735.
